Beach party wedding!!

March 27th, 2012

If you are holding a beach themed wedding, keeping the theme universal makes the planning and preparations much easier. When you begin planning the bridesmaid luncheon, why not consider combining the male and female attendants “thank you” party into one competitive and fun event. Planning the wedding attendant luncheon for your entire bridal party can be a great deal of fun and take very little effort as long as you identify your main goal of the event and create an entire afternoon around that activity. Since you are hosting a luncheon, a beach barbecue would be a thematic and fun.

An afternoon activity that would provide lighthearted fun and competitiveness between the two sides of the bridal party could include a “sand castle building” competition at your local beach. This unique and exciting activity would provide a great opportunity for everyone to meet and get to know one another and express their creative side along the way. Additional activities that could be included in the day’s itinerary could include a game of beach volleyball and a bonfire. However, if you intend to build a fire on a public beach it is often a good idea to check with your city council to discover if any special permits are necessary prior to hosting your event.

Taking time to locate beach themed wedding attendant gifts for each member of your wedding party is actually easier than you might think; many online and retail wedding planning outlets have unique and creative wedding party favors to give to your friends and family on this special day.

Tips for planning a small, low budget wedding!!

March 22nd, 2012

You would not arrive at an interview for your dream job without prior preparation, would you? No, you would not, and that is why preparation and research will make your wedding a success without remortgaging your parents or your house!
Order a small wedding cake for the cake table to display and a large sheet cake to cut and serve from the kitchen. Serve the cake as the dessert to complete your meal and forget about sweets.
Rent, borrow or make as many items as possible! Some items to borrow from a friend or relative are a cake knife and serving set, toasting glasses, jewelry and the bride’s shoes. You can make several items or enlist a few friends to help with ribbons, pew bows, veil and headpiece, church programs, bridesmaids? dresses, bridal purse, ring bearer pillow and the cake top to reduce costs.
Instead of hiring a florist, make items or contact a local floral design school and hire them to provide your flowers. Carry a small bouquet or one flower and have your attendants do the same. The bridesmaids? bouquets can double as flower arrangements on the head table.
When shopping for dresses shop J.C. Penney and Chadwick’s catalogs, consignment shops, discontinued gown racks, the Internet and newspaper ads. Remember, it is always great if you can count on Dear Aunt Sally or your Grandmother to make them too! I am sure they would be honored.
When setting the wedding date you may want to consider choosing a Friday rather than a Saturday as it usually trims off about $3 per guest at your dinner reception. Choose a buffet or plate dinner versus a sit-down dinner. Serve chicken or pasta; it is less expensive. In addition, you may want to decide on a morning or afternoon reception and serve cake, punch, and hors d’oeuvres. Serve beer, wine or just host a cocktail hour. Purchase your liquor from wholesalers. It may be wise to check with culinary and bakery schools in your area to see if they can help with food preparation; many will prepare the food for its cost.
Rent a Cadillac or other luxury vehicle just for the bride, groom, maid or matron of honor and best man to save on the expense of a limousine. The other members of the Bridal Party will most likely want to ride with their spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend to the reception.
When choosing your wedding invitation, select one that will only require one stamp. Another great tip is to have your reception information added on the ceremony invitation to eliminate the expense of the reception card.
A little thought and creativity will certainly go a long way to help you have a wonderful wedding on a budget. Good luck!

March 5th, 2012

A green and white orchids wedding! Orchids everywhere: ceremony gazebo, chairs, bouquets, boutonnieres, cocktail centerpieces, escort table arrangements, chargers and finally dinner tables centerpieces. An elegant wedding mixing the beach rustic stile with silver touches for chairs and table and white tablecloths at the beach of the gorgeous Maroma Resort and Spa Hotel. A unbelievable stunning tent with rustic poles, white organza draping recreating big sea waves and delicate glass drops with candle inside as hanging décor dressed this amazing reception under the Mexican Caribbean stars.

The bride and groom also had a fantastic surprise for your guests: a gorgeous lounge set up with a bonfire, so their guest could enjoy the DJ during all night long.
